Progress

The weather has been exceptionally beautiful these last days of summer, but today I FELT the sunshine deep down inside! I came to the hospital this morning to find Carl with no tubes or attachments: no oxygen, no IV, no cathedar, no morphine drip.

He had his first physical therapy session since his surgery yesterday: I stepped out of the room for awhile. They worked on ROM (Range of Motion) in both his legs, basically trying to bend his knees. He is a trooper!

When I came back, I was met by my husband wheeling himself around the hallways on a wheelchair. He even went out to the visitor elevators so he could be there to surprise Carson when the elevator doors opened!
This afternoon has been quiet, I think he will sleep awhile. His pain meds, which they are now giving orally, seem to be more stabilized and Carl is more alert while awake, even though he is still medicated.

We don't know details about when Carl will be moved to rehab, but my guess is that our location will change next week.

Thank you for your continued prayers.

Hi Fan,

What great news! Everyday is getting better and better. Tell him that we really miss him in the office and there's not one day that goes by without someone calling in to see how he is.

Love,
Anita

Hey Carl, great to hear that things are improving for you. I had a dream about you last night in which you were healing and progressing much quicker than the doctors expected. Here's to hoping this dream becomes a reality. Stay strong.

Who is that guy in that picture? Is that the same guy I visited this past week-end? It can't be!!! Maybe a twin brother?

Hey Carl,

So good to see you looking like your same onery self. We can't wait to see you in person. You've always been sleeping or in surgery when we've stopped in so we're beginning to get a complex. Are you avoiding us? :)

we love you and pray for you every day.

Keep the faith,
Don and Doris

Hey Carl (and Fan),

Our internet had been down for too many days and I only now got to catch up on the blog and the great answers to prayer. Praise God! He is good. As I was thinking and praying for you tonight I came across this Word of the Day from Joel and Victoria Osteen ~ Let this minister to you today!

Greater Than You Imagined !!! “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him” (I Corinthians 2:9).

Because God loves you, He has supernatural blessings in store for you; increase, favor, SUPERNATURAL opportunities. His dream for your life is so much greater than you ever imagined. You haven’t seen anything yet! You may have a dream to get well again, or to be able to walk without pain, but God’s dream for you is not only that you will walk, but that you be able to run and play like you did when you were a child. Get ready because God has greater blessings in store for you than you ever imagined. Open you heart today and keep an attitude of faith and expectancy and you will live the abundant life the Lord has prepared for you!

A Prayer for Today (for Carl)
Father in heaven, thank You for Your hand of blessing on Carl (and Fan's) life. May his heart be open and receive by faith all You have for him. Fill Carl (and Family) with your peace and joy as they continue to trust in You for total healing to come forth quickly. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Hugs to you ~ Love Amos & Ann

What great news! Carl is making some serious progress. I love that picture - what exactly is in that jar?? We miss both of you at the office, and I especially missed Carl this week when I was paying the bills and making the decisions that go with it. He can have that job back as soon as he wants it! Keep on getting better - with all the support from friends and family who care so much about you guys, you have no choice but to make a miraculous recovery.

Hey Carl,
We have been praying for you and the family. We know that God has his hand on your lives and that your work is not finished. When slight detours come our way so often it is the very thing that causes us to realize that His plans and His purposes are the most important thing in this life. We pray that in this unexpected turn of events in your lives that in you God will find a place for His Rest. Acts 7:49

Think and pray for you often,
